Our Mission is to provide a virtual space and regularly scheduled time for interested people to come together to learn to play multi-part music as an orchestra. This should develop individuals' playing skills as well as promote unity and friendships across the US and Canada. It is our hope that members will come to understand, as well as enjoy, multi-part music and what it means to play this type of music in groups.
Our Vision:
We envision meeting in person at festivals across the country from time to time to play and perform together. We will strive to do this at least once a year.
Our goal is that members playing regularly with the FNDO will improve playing skills, expand repertoire, and have increased opportunities for virtual and in-person playing with others.
Our day-to-day leadership team is a fluid group of experienced musicians, including - among others - Carol Walker, Ellen Pratt, Judy House and Kirk House.
We also have a formal Board of Directors: Jesse Shelor, Steve Eulberg, Cindy Wolfe, Carol Walker, Ellen Pratt, Judy House, and Kirk House. The board meets - usually by Zoom - several times a year to set overall strategy and long-term goals.
